Updated Pics of Our House

Here are some updated pics of our house, now that we are done moving in and painting.

The messy office.

In case you are wondering, that is Chris' hand in the pic. haha.

My Parents' Visit

Last weekend my parents came to visit. We had a great time with them! We went and saw the memorial where the federal building in OKC was bombed. I definately recommend that everyone sees that at some point. We also went and saw some Roman art at a museum and went to the River Walk in OKC. Sorry, I didn't take that many pics, but here are a few.

Gross

One thing that I had about OK is that all of the bugs are freakishly large. I think there is something in the water. :) Here is a gigantic spider that was outside our window. At first Chris refused to kill it, but after repeated nightmeres I had to put my foot down (literally...hehe jk).

The Sky is Falling

One thing that I love about OK is that it has the prettiest sky. Here are a couple of random pics I've taken.

Update

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. We have been VERY busy! I will just give a quick update. We closed on our house a few days ago and moved in last weekend. We have been busy unpacking, painting, and buying all of the furniture and random stuff we need but our house still looks disheveled, mostly because we have been so busy with school that we haven't had too much time to do anything else. The good news though is that we survived the first week of school. Woo hoo! After the first day I told Chris "only three more years." It's probably not a good thing that I'm already starting to count down, but oh well. I mean, 3 years isn't very long, right? Especially if Dad is right and we are all going to live to be 1000 years old thanks to technological advances, or does that theory only apply to Janae? Haha. Anyways, hopefully you all will come out to visit us soon!

Norman OK!

We are officially in Norman, OK. It was quite the drive! We left on Saturday after going to lunch with Chris' family and we drove until we got to Denver. On Sunday we drove to Enid, OK which is about 2 hours away from Norman. We stayed on the Air Force Base with Chris' friend Ben and his wife Ashley. Then on Monday we drove down to Norman and looked at houses all day. By the end of the day we put an offer on a house, and then went to dinner with one of Chris' old friends. Today we met with Dean Tabb and he showed us around the law school and introduced us to a lot of friendly staff. We also kept going back and forth with the seller until we reached an agreement and bought a house! Tomorrow we will meet with the inspector in the morning and then we will head down to Austin. I am excited to see all you Texans!

Here is a pic from our boring drive lol. I took this pic right after we left Enid, OK.

I took this pic while we were driving because I was excited to see that there were trees in Oklahoma haha (I was worried that the tornados destroyed them all).

It's a little hard to tell in the pic but we are going up hill. I took this picture to prove to my mom that Oklahoma isn't completely flat. :)

Alpine Slides

Last weekend I went with my mom and Grandma to the Alpine Slides up in Park City while Chris was studying for the GMAT. We had a lot of fun going down the slides and the coaster. They had this zip line that Grandma really wanted to go on, but the line was too long so we decided not to. Hopefully we will have a chance to go before we move!

At the Alpine Slides there are two different slides and they tell you when you can begin the slide so that they can space everyone out (kind of like a water slide). My mom and I went down the slide at the same time because we were on adjacent slides, and my Grandma was on the slide right behind me. When my mom and I got to the bottom we were worried because we couldn't see Grandma anywhere up the hill. Then they guy behind mom came down and we asked him if he'd seen a grey-haired lady and he replied "yeah, but she's probably going to be a while". We thought this was pretty hilarious, and it was even funnier when we finally saw Grandma slowly coming down the hill with 3 people right behind her! But we were still proud of her because what other 86 year old would even go on the slide in the first place? Plus, according to Grandma she was going a lot faster than she used to, so at least it was an improvement. :)

We also went down this new ride they have called the Coaster, which winds down the mountain. It was a more similar to a roller coaster then the Alpine Slide because it goes a lot faster and the track is like a roller coaster, except you can still choose your own speed. I loved it!

We rode on ski lifts going up the mountain. Mom and Grandma started making fun of me because I started was a little nervous that we were going to fall off.

Tim McGraw

Last weekend I found super cheap tickets to Tim McGraw on Craig's List the day before the concert. Since my mom was in town, she came with Chris and me. I was really excited because I love Tim McGraw! It kind of sucked because we had lawn seats and a couple of giants decided to stand right in front of us, so at times it was a little hard to see. But overall, it was a great concert and I had a lot of fun.

Thanks for coming with us mom! You are the best!

Viva Las Vegas!

We went to Vegas for Memorial Day weekend. It was a nice little getaway. Fortunately the weather was really nice too...not to hot, which is shocking for Vegas in May. Here are a few pics:

We did a lot of shopping in Vegas...actually mostly window shopping since we are poor haha. For some reason Chris thought we needed a pic to prove that I went shopping (as if anyone would doubt that I went shopping! ha!).

Pic of Chris on the strip.

We went and saw the lions at the MGM Grand. They were cool, but I was bored after about 5 minutes.

The best part of Vegas was going to see Mamma Mia! It was hilarious. We were really glad we went because it was such a unique experience. I definately recommend seeing it if you haven't already. Have I mentioned yet that my husband is a weirdo? haha.

We spun this wheel at the Monte Carlo and won $35 worth of free play. Since we couldn't cash it in and could only use it on the slot machines, we spent about 5 minutes blowing through the $35 and earning a total of...4 whole dollars!!! Oh well, at least that was $4 more to go towards my shopping budget haha. The whole experience really destroyed any miniscule desire I had to use the slot machines.

Julie's Wedding

Julie got married at the beginning of this month (sorry I've been slacking on the posts). She got married here in Utah, which we were excited about. Her husband's name is Eli and they seem really happy together. I loveee weddings because I love junk food, cake, dressing up, and dancing...how can it get any better than that? haha. Here are a few pics:

Meygen and Cory on the ride home from the reception...interesting haha.

Meygs and Cory...ADORABLE. After Julie's reception Cory proposed to Meygen. They are getting married July 23rd in SLC. I am really excited for them.

Trish and her new fiance Keith (aka Keithers). Aren't they cute?

Meygen, me, and Trish! It was great, like a little high school reunion hehe.
